NOVA College Music Society Attends Performance by National Symphony Orchestra

NOVA’s College Music Society chapter attended a performance by the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center thanks to sponsorship from NOVA’s Alexandria Campus Student Life.

The concert featured music by French composers Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy. Nicholas Hersh, the Associate Conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, was called in the day of the show to substitute for the originally scheduled conductor, who fell ill. The audience responded with heightened awareness and showed their appreciation for the extra effort with a long standing ovation at the close of the program.
