NOVA’s Police Department and several student-athletes recently helped support the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association of Greater Washington, DC, Trunk-or-Treat event at the Annandale Campus.
Trunk-or-Treat is a fully accessible trick-or-treat and Halloween festival for family and friends of the neuromuscular community. The event brings individuals together to make friends, celebrate the holiday, and trick-or-treat without physical limitations.
Trunk-or-Treat allows children to be accepted for who they are, not what they can or can’t do, the MDA focuses on abilities rather than disabilities. Families decorate the trunk of their cars so children can go around to each car trick-or-treating.
Volunteers contributed by decorating their car trunk, facilitating games, and donating food and treats.
