McMiller Named Military Educator of the Year

Takesha McMiller, director of military and veteran services for NOVA received the Virginia Advisory Council on Military Education (VA-ACME) Educator of the Year Award. She was selected for her guidance of the military community to achieve excellence, create a culture of respect and success; and for her leadership and innovation while embodying practices for lifelong learning, and earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

The Virginia Advisory Council on Military Education (VA-ACME) covers the most military concentrated region in the world. The organization’s mission is to continue to provide progressive and innovative support for an ever-changing academic environment. VA-ACME is committed to addressing military education issues within the state of Virginia.

Takesha received the award on April 18 at the VA-ACME Scholarship Luncheon in Norfolk, Va.
