The five-game winning streak came to halt for the Nighthawks last week against Cecil after an 80-61 loss. The Nighthawks are holding on to seventh seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region 20 Division II Tournament.

Trevaun Hyatt has moved into ninth all-time in scoring and needs just two points to tie Doyle Boyd for eighth. He is also just the third Nighthawk to score 400 or more points and pull down over 300 rebounds in his career. He joins Addison Burgess and the aforementioned Boyd as the only two members of that club.

With two games remaining this season, the Nighthawks can finish no better than 6-5 in the Division II standings. They currently are holding on to the fifth seed in the tournament and are just two victories from breaking the program record for most wins in a season.

Jalita Montgomery continues to inch closer to the 1,000-point mark, while Natasha Porter has the fourth most points in a season with 347. Tiya Anderson, meanwhile, has cracked the top 10 in season rebounds at 160.

The Nighthawks opened the season last Saturday, and continue the 2018 slate Saturday against the VCU club lacrosse team. NOVA has five student-athletes returning from a season ago and are led by Joseph Germano, who tallied 19 goals a season ago.
